If you’re experiencing crashes while playing any of the Beyond Mines modpacks, the most common causes are low memory(RAM) settings, outdated or broken GPU drivers. Since the included performance mods rely on modern rendering techniques, it is important that your graphics drivers are fully up to date and functioning properly.
This guide will walk you through the steps to cleanly update your drivers and rule out common issues before reaching out for support.
1. Clean Out Old Drivers
Before installing new drivers, it’s important to remove any traces of the old ones to prevent conflicts:
- Download and run Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU).
- Follow the instructions to safely uninstall your current GPU drivers.
- Once completed, restart your system.
2. Install the Latest Drivers
Now that your system is clean, it is time to install fresh drivers:
- For Nvidia users: visit the official Nvidia driver page.
- For AMD users: visit the AMD driver page.
- Use the auto-detection tool provided by your GPU manufacturer or manually search for your model.
- Download the latest driver package and run the installer.
- Leave all options on default and complete the installation.
Once installed, reboot your system and try launching Minecraft again.
3. Disable Integrated Graphics (if applicable)
If your system includes both a dedicated GPU and an integrated graphics chip (common in laptops and some desktops), Minecraft might be launching on the weaker integrated chip. This can still cause crashes or performance issues even with updated drivers.
Search online for instructions specific to your system or BIOS on how to disable integrated graphics to ensure Minecraft always runs on your dedicated GPU.
